We're currently seeking a Project Manager/Estimator for our Excavation Department.

Job Summary

Edgewood Properties is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager/Estimator for the Excavation Division, who will manage projects from initial estimate through completion.

This dual-role position requires a keen eye for detail, leadership skills, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.

Candidate will work full-time in our office located in South Plainfield, NJ and travel to sites as required.

responsibilities

Estimating:

Review plans, specs, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates for excavation and site-work projects.
Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, grading, and related scopes.
Develop and submit competitive bids, budgets, and proposals.

Project Management:

Plan and manage multiple excavation projects simultaneously.
Coordinate with managers, field superintendent, Land development managers and suppliers.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Track project progress, manage change orders, and maintain proper documentation.
Work with office personnel to ensure billing is accurate and matches proposals

qualifications

5+ years of experience in excavation, civil construction, or a related field.
Proven experience in project management and estimating.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, site safety, and construction practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Familiarity with GPS and grade control systems.
Experience with public works or commercial site development projects.
