Position Overview
The Concrete Mason/Laborer will be a key member of the Concrete Repair Crew responsible for identifying, repairing, and remediating all concrete hazards across the company’s property portfolio.
This role supports site safety and property value by executing quality repairs, patching, and improvements related to concrete flatwork, masonry, curbing, sidewalks, aprons, and other site-related concrete structures.
This position will work out of our South Plainfield, NJ office.
responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform demolition, preparation, forming, mixing, placing, finishing, and curing of concrete for repairs and site improvements.
- Execute masonry-related tasks including patching, block/brick repairs, joint pointing, and reinforcement as required.
- Assist with site work improvements tied to excavation and property development projects.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, small equipment, and machinery required for concrete and masonry work.
- Load and unload materials, supplies, and tools from the crew’s Ford F450 Mason Dump truck and box trailer.
- Work collaboratively under the direction of the Foreman to complete repairs efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE compliance, excavation safety awareness, and hazard recognition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and job sites.
- Provide labor support on both concrete and masonry crews as needed.
qualifications
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in concrete, masonry, or related construction work preferred.
- Ability to mix, pour, spread, screed, finish, and cure concrete to specifications.
- Familiarity with forms, reinforcement, patching materials, and masonry tools.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy labor in outdoor environments.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.
