We're currently seeking an Painting Superintendent with at least 5+ years of professional painting experience

and 2 years in a supervisory role.

This position will be full-time and be based out of our office in Dover, NJ

Travel to various locations may be required as needed

Position Summary:
The Painting Superintendent is responsible for field management and supervising painting crews, coordinating daily job site activities, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in commercial and/or residential painting, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead painting crews on assigned projects.
  • Plan and assign daily work activities to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are achieved.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate painters and apprentices.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment and request supplies as needed.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to resolve job site issues.
  • Complete daily reports, time sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and professional
  • Willing to learn to read architectural plans and prepare take-offs for new potential work
  • Prepare Purchase Orders for last minute paint & misc. paint product purchases
  • Ensure all paint at the shop is properly placed to designated areas.
  • Contact regular safety meetings (tool box talks) and keep records
  • Attend pre-scheduled weekly or bi-weekly meetings project managers on various sites

qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must be bilingual (Spanish)
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional painting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Thorough knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation.
  • Experience with commercial, residential, or industrial painting projects.
  • Ability to read blueprints and project specifications. Ability to do take offs is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • OSHA certification or other safety training is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and reaching.
  • May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on project requirements.
